Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Lifya app (on iOS and Android) and this website handle your information. In short: we do not collect any data. Your journal stays on your device.

1. Who we are

Lifya is published by Mora Labs ("we", "us"). If you have any question about privacy, contact us at thanhchi30@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

None. Lifya has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. The app does not connect to the internet; the Android app does not even request the internet permission. We never receive, sell, share or use for tracking any information about you or your device.

On the App Store this is shown as "Data Not Collected", and on Google Play as "No data collected" and "No data shared with third parties".

3. Information stored on your device

To work as a journal, the app stores the following on your device only:

  • the moments you create: photos, videos, voice notes and text;
  • details you add or the app derives: date, time, time zone, place name, feelings, people and events;
  • transcripts of your voice notes and search indexes;
  • your settings.

This information is kept in an encrypted database inside the app's private storage. It is processed only on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

4. Permissions

The app asks for a permission only when you first use a feature that needs it. You can refuse or revoke any permission in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

  • Camera and microphone: to capture photos, videos and voice notes.
  • Location (while using the app): to attach a place to a moment. The location is turned into a place name using a map database built into the app, without any network request.
  • Photos: to bring photos and videos you choose into your journal and, if you turn it on, to remind you about photos you have not added yet. Photos are read on your device only.
  • Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint: to lock the app or individual moments. Biometric checks are performed by your device's operating system; the app never receives your biometric data.
  • Notifications: for optional reminders you turn on. Notifications are created on your device; locked moments never appear in them.

5. Backups

The app's data is excluded from iCloud Backup and from Android cloud backup and device transfer, so it is not copied to Apple or Google.

You can export an encrypted backup file yourself. The file is encrypted with a password you choose (AES-256-GCM) and is saved wherever you decide. If you store it with a cloud service, that service's privacy policy applies to the file, but the service cannot read its contents without your password. We never receive your backup or your password.

6. Retention and deletion

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual moments, or all data in Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device. Backup files you exported are under your control and are deleted only when you delete them. Since we hold no copy of your data, we have nothing to retain or delete.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (European Union and United Kingdom), the CCPA (California) or Vietnam's Personal Data Protection Law give you rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data and to object to its processing. Because we do not collect or hold personal data, you exercise these rights directly in the app: view, edit, export and delete your data at any time. You can still contact us with any request or question, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Lifya is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect any information from children, or from anyone else.

9. Security

Your journal is stored in an encrypted database, protected by your device's security, and can be locked with biometrics. Exported backups are encrypted with your password. Please keep your device and your backup password safe: if they are lost, we cannot recover your data.

10. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. To deliver pages and protect against abuse, Google may process technical data such as your IP address and browser type in its server logs, under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use these logs to identify you.

11. Changes to this policy

If a future version of Lifya offers optional features that send data off your device, such as sync between devices, we will update this policy before that version is released, explain what is sent and why, and ask for your consent in the app. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
